Can anyone with a Mk3 tell me how far the boot badge is down from the top lip of the boot ... I have the badge but no holes!

As fitted to an original 72 boot lid.

That's perfect, a big thank you :)

Same boot badge as well!

I have a "1275" badge from MiniSpares that I'd like to place on the boot lid of a 1988 Mini (originally a 1000 but now has a 1275 after restoration). Can anyone provide a rough location where is should go?

This may help, genuine bmc mk2 boot lid with factory drilled badge holes.
Unfortunately I can't get to the back of the car at the moment to take measurements.

Thanks that matches an image I found on Google images so I can guesstimate from there.

Found a 3M product called Press in Place Adhesive which is specifically for badges and emblems. No cutting out the tape to fit the lettering as it is a series of small sticky dots that come off the backing where lettering touches. Brilliant. No holes to drill.

Just an update: I just placed my "1275" badge on the boot lid, to the right of the license plate surrounds as per the image linked earlier. I used the 3M Press-in-Place adhesive backing...first time with that stuff. It really seems to do the trick, no trimming around the badge shape and no fussing. I needed to trim off the little prongs on the badge that are meant to insert into holes in the body panel (which I didn't want to make). Used a dremel cut off disc for this and went smoothly. Time will tell if the adhesive holds up OK....though it is made specifically for this purpose.

by the way, I got 10 sheets of the the Press-in-Place stuff in the packet I bought ($8 cdn locally)....so if anyone needs a bit maybe I can help you out....
