Hello everyone.

Where would I find the usual VIN plate on my Mini. It's a 1999 Cooper S.

I would expect the plate to be either on the bulkhead or the of front bonnet locking plate.

Thank you.

The number is stamped in the gutter of the wiper panel. Centrally between the wiper motors. There should also be a riveted plate but that may have fallen off or been removed.

HI Nicklouse.

Thank you for this.

I will look for the stamped number in the gutter. But its the riveted panel I am looking for. Where is normally placed?

Engine bay, off-side inner wing.

If it's a Japanese import it should be on the boot floor.

The vin plate should be on the LEFT hand side inner wing as you look at the engine.

Bobbins and beardylondon. Thank you.

I found it. It was partly covered in dust and dirt. Still not easy to read, though. I'll give it a good clean and have a look in good daylight. Thank you.
