"A 1968 Mini which just 272 miles ago was bought for less than £1,000, could sell for thousands.

In fairness, those 272 miles were accumulated over the entire course of this Mini’s 51-year life. That’s why vendor Woodham Mortimer is calling it the world’s most original Mini… and is keen NOT to disclose an asking price, listing it only as ‘POA’ or price on application."

Now that is nice....couldn't afford it, and wouldn't want it... as I would be petrified to use it... I am a fan of use it, not show it by the way

Wow,

Its amazing the cars that people have squirreled away in garages that come to the market.

A fantastic time capsule showing how it came out of the factory / dealership. Great reference point for anyone restoring a late Mk1.

Sadly this mini will never see the road again (I imagine) as to do so would devalue it massively and take away it's USP. It will in all likellihood be part of someones private collection and if to be seen in public will make it a "trailer queen".

Fantastic pictures of it here https://woodham-mort...f0-08d72bb186c3

What will it sell for?

My wife just said "imagine how many times it's been flashed by other minis going the other way, probably none!".

Lottery win and drive it to every show in the UK.

That's really nice and very desirable.

Did accelerator pedals look so worn straight out of the factory?

The black paint wore off the metal accelerator pedal very quickly, I remember rarely seeing any Minis with the rubber pad still fitted on the accelerator pedal.

There's a 59 mini 850 in clipper blue at a museum in Edinburgh (something like 500th off the line) with a handful of miles. I posted it on here a while back.

This car belongs to one of my friends, and its truly unbelievable. He bought it around 18 months ago as an investment. The way the doors close is perfect. The smell inside takes you straight back to 1967. He was tempted to use it, as he loves building cars to use. but realistically it would devalue it as soon as it is used. Hopefully it'll go to a collector or something, would be nice for it to be seen!
