I what to change from standard 70’s headlights which have a 40/45w lamp to cibie H180 kit with 55/60w H4 lamps.

Do I need to to upgrade the wiring and install relays for the additional amps or can I just use the existing as it’s only a 1.5A increase?

If you are not losing voltage through old worse you will be fine.

Hi,

Standard wiring will cover it, just check you're getting the same voltage at the headlights as you are at the alternator.

Cheers :)

I think you should keep an eye on the light switch. At the very least, carry a spare switch and loom repair kit.

If possible upgrade to a relay; I can recommend "Wired by Wilson"'s product.

Good luck; it is nice to be able to see at night.
