[MOGGIEMANIA]

Hi everyone. I am new to this site but not new to minis. I am now on my fourth after a 15 year break. The car is a 1989 998cc A+ which is solid and tidy but the engine bay is a right mess. I have always fancied building my own engine and have acquired a 1275 A+ block and 12G940 head in good condition. Driveability on the roads and in traffic will be a concern.


I was hoping that someone could give me ideas as to the type on camshaft and crankshaft i should go for. What should be on my wish list in terms components for performance and sound for a road car whilst considering like most people, that I haven't got an endless pot of cash.

Any suggestions will be welcome as I don,t want to end up buying standard worn components off e-bay and regret it, rushing the job without the research.

I'll add 21253 pistons and standard rods. HIF44 carb. Are you going to use the 998 gearbox?
