I'm looking for some decent quality black carpet mats for my 1990 Cooper, without any coloured edging, or odd looking heal pads, no emblems or logos, just simple all black OEM style mats, that don't cost an arm and a leg.

 

I bought some last year off Ebay and they are awful, 1000 miles later and they are falling apart, I guess you get what you pay for!

 

If you can recommend some, thanks in advance.

Watching with interest. I bought a replacement set a few weeks ago from one of the main suppliers and although the quality is good, the fit is awful. I still have my '98 o/e mats and I'm tempted to have them copied.

There's a place in Washford Mill Redditch that make decent mats to your requirements, I've just bought a set of the luxury all black including edging. They are on ebay

That's the company .The 950grm are the ones I bought .They are made to order , I ordered and picked them up the same day

Excellent timing. These will go nicely with the Newton carpet I've just ordered. I might well have done of those 950grm mats.

Im not too keen on the grey edging, I'll have to ask if they do pure black edging.

the edging is black but not has dark as the carpet, if you look on the photo showing the back of the mat the edge looks dark, they do make them with different colour edging which thinking about it I should gone for red edging

Might go for a set of the rubber ones. Hard to find a decent rubber set that doesn't have a faux checker-plate alloy effect!! What is that all about? Wish I'd kept one of the many pairs of original heavy duty rover rubber mats I had back in the 90's.

 

I find that no matter how much you spend on the carpet ones, they all curl up and look tatty after a while.

I'd like to see an image of the rubber ones if someone has bought them.

 

I also hate the faux checker plate look as well.
