Mpi Spotlights

Best Answer Itsaminithing , 09 September 2019 - 11:45 AM

048025 is the original front spotlight & as you say they come on with full beam.

Spotlights were fitted as standard to MPI Minis.... factory manufactured Sport Pack equipped MPI Mini also received two front fog lights (they had an extra switch fitted on the switch panel).

Having seen the work you've done on your car i don't think changing the  wiring over will cause you to much trouble so if you want to stay original you can save a few pounds with this - http://www.minispare...08.aspx|Back to

Hello,

I have a standard MPi Cooper. It has two spot/fog lamps on the front grille. They are 150mm and use this bracket to mount one left, one right.

I have never run the car as I am doing a nut and bolt rebuild. I assume that as I have no front fog lamp switch that these are spot lights and they illuminate when you use full beam?

What is the original replacement?

Mini Spares offer two, but they appear to be the same? Mine are stamped 048025 in the glass lens.

Any decent alternatives that will work with the original bracket?

If you have no fog switch (usually mounted on the right hand side of the dash near the right hand vent) then they'll be spot lights.

The two links you provided aren't identical! The first one (XNB10008) is for spot/driving lights and the lens is clear and the 2nd one is for fog lights, the lens is more difused.

The first link is very likely to be the direct replacement for yours unless someone else has replaced them before. A photo of yours would be the best way to guide you.

Yes, these would illuminate when you flash the headlights or use full beam.

Unless you want to start messing around with changing plugs and cabling then using a direct replacement is the way to go.
