Hi all,
Just wanting to get some opinions and experiences - I’ve got an ‘86 Piccadilly which I’m currently restoring to a rally replica (not Paddy Hopkirk, more Martini racing style).
With this, I’m thinking the old style black and silver plates would look so much better, but appreciate they are not strictly legal. Does anybody else run black and silver plates on post 1979 minis, and if so do you get stopped/picked up on them?
Granted I’m about a year off until it will be road legal (so with a restoration you might as well make that 2 years realistically!) but just wanted to see whether it is even worth thinking about!

Also, the front would be a stick on plate fitted to the bonnet, and so has anyone experienced issues with this (again I understand this is not strictly legal as it does not meet the government standards).

Thanks in advance!
