Only a short trip to mot garage. I've changed the clutch master and slave cylinder but im finding gears are hard to get. It will go in gear but obviously something is wrong. Do I need to do a clutch adjustment? It's a get to clutch

Can you pump the pedal at all and does that help when trying to change gear ... if it does could be a bleed issue or a collapsing hose... did you renew the hose ?

Check the distance between the clutch cover and throwout stop, it should be 6mm from memory. It's in the haynes manual.

6.5mm according to Haynes, I use an Allen key as a spacer to set the clearance.

Verto. It's been a long time since I've driven the mini but I reckon the clutch pedal looks a bit low? Certainly lower than the brake pedal. The clutch master cylinder is the plastic type made by ap Lockheed
On some minis the brake pedal has a different crank angle to the clutch to make it higher to prevent it hitting the floor (so the clutch may look lower than the brake)
I searched one out for my project specifically
Not sure which minis/pedals - someone more knowledgeable will come along to advise I'm sure.

Sorry to hi-jack but I dont think the Op's question has been answered....I'm also about to replace the master and slave cylinders on my SPI. Is anyone able to give a bit of an explanation about the adjustment required please? Thanks
