Just want to share a picture of a greenstuff pad i removed today. Is this a fault in the manufacturing of normal ware.
And is it safe to reuse this brake pad?http://imgur.com/a/SUpoCKm

I would replace them for the cost involved and their importance.

Agreed. Do not use.

Also check for sticky piston. Looks like over heated.

Replace... would not want friction surface to dislodge and take you off the road..

Mine disintegrated on the daily, almost causing a pile up on the motorway. Sent them back to EBC, they sent me a new set. I sent them the bill for a set of 1144s.

I've never been a fan of EBC brake pads. On several occasions I've had the friction material fall off the backing plates on mountain bike disc brake pads.
Always tried to avoid them like the plague.

I’ve seen this too many times with EBC, not just on minis.

Normally when they get hard use before going through a few heat cycles. But it still shouldn’t happen

Like Steve220 says Mintex 1144’s are much better

Yes it happened to me. The braking material had separated from the steel backing plate. Luckily it was held in place by the pistons and the pins at the front of the calliper. It MOTed fine and the braking had not been affected.

I am still a fan of EBC, tho.

Same here on an old M3 track car. They replaced them twice, but I gave up in the end and have never bought EBC since.
