Spoiler : fitted !

Then, started some work on the rollcage. I bought a rollcage made by OMP, but didn't like the way it was supposed to be installed in the car : the main part of the cage interfere with the back of the seats. So, decided to move it back 13 cm from the initial position, which forced me to cut the top bars welded on the centre cage, and needed to make new longer ones. Also started to make some brackets, bolted on the B post seatbelts attachments. Everything is now tack welded in final position.

Next step is to make some door bars, but waiting for gussets that takes ages to arrive...

I will keep the tape, much lighter than welds!

Moved on the rear but need to modify rear arches before ...

Some progress on the Mini. Roll cage is not finished yet, as I need to buy some more steel tube...

Wanted to make some holes on the A panel (everybody knows how much I love drilling holes everywhere!), driver's side (left side for us  :shy: ) to permit evacuation of hot air from the radiator, that can stay under the wing, just as it (look at the beast below!):

And finally found something a little bit different, with kinda Japan style...

ecope_11.jpg

So, contacted the seller in Japan, and ordered one. Here is what I received :

After some drilling and cutting, I'm pretty happy with the result :

Don't think I'll let it black as it is too "flashy", but that will be nice painted body colour.

Not much to show, had other things to do this weekend...

But fitted a plastic plate (another part bought in Japan!) to close the engine bay panel, just behind the tacho.

I like it, just gives my project a neat finishing touch I was after! ;-)

Some more welding today : started to make some new "jacking points" to fit stands like those :

89772210.jpg

So, as I don't know how Owens makes the reinforcement of the body when he welds the tube inside the sill, started to make my own bracket... and ended with that :

img_2217.jpg

Which go there :

img_2216.jpg

And with the outside sill over the bracket :

img_2215.jpg

The tube is 2.5mm thick, will be welded to the inner sill, outer sill, door step and rollcage plate. Hope it will be strong enough!

If you have any suggestion, feel free to explain how to make it !
