Threaded Hole On Back Of Block

Anyone know what is supposed to attach to this threaded hole?

 

I'm pretty sure I've never had anything in there///  O_O

In a Mini. It was used on some of the Inline Engines.

...manifold support wasn't it? Don't think I've seen one drilled and tapped. Did all inline A's not also have the oil filter screwed direct to the block?

A+ blocks did yes. Fitted to those fine BL examples: the Marina and Itals! ;)

 

The older A had the usual filters but most were the paper element variety. A lot have been converted to the screw-on Mini canister style though. The very early 803 A blocks had a screw on filter.
