Got some numbers on my cylinder head. How do I know what they denote
2608D
128090 (I think not sure about the 9)

most likely to be a 12G940 if it is a cast number designating that it is a bigbore head. eg 1275

Pictures would help here but your 120890 is likely to be a 12G940 if it's a 1275cc head.

Ye makes sense. Pictures are too big to upload. Working on it. Was told it was a mg metro but seeing what else I have found out I wasn't certain that wasn't a porkie pie

Measure the inlet valve. If it’s 35.6mm it’s an early MG Metro spec head. These flow a bit better than the 33.3mm valved heads. If it is a 33.3mm valved head, whether it came from an MG Metro or not makes no difference to its performance.

Phil.

Still on the engine. I will get to that. I agree with the red thing Nicklouse. Sounds stupid to me too. But saw it on mini mania, calver site and mini spares under cylinder head identification
