I’ve got a mk3 S remote brake servo fitted to my 1975 mini 1000, and want to replace the standard copper brake pipes between the master cylinder and the servo, and the servo and the 3-way union (single line braking system) with flexi braided brake hose so that if/when I need to work on the clutch or anything down that side of the engine bay, I can just unbolt the servo and swing it out of the way without disturbing the braking system.

Can anyone recommend a supplier for the flexi braided brake hose and suitable unions so that I can make up my own hoses?

Cheers

Baz

Hi

We have a selection of brake pipe / hoses / lines / made and manufactured by ourselves

Our braided use Goodridge and we make cupro and copper lines, have a look at or shop or drop us a line to your requirements, if we can help ?

It'll certainly make working on the clutch and things more convenient but it's possible you may introduce some extra sponginess into the feel of the brakes due to replacing solid pipe with flexible pipe.  It may not be noticeable but is worth being aware of.

Thanks for the advice - it’s something I’ve considered, and I’ll keep the copper lines just in case I need to revert.

Hi Neil, I’ve just visited your website to see the message “Our ebay shop and webshop will close at 3pm on Wednesday 9th October 2019.” - looks like I’ve run out of time to get an order in?!

I ordered a rear subframe bolt kit from Neil last week, really nicely assembled kit and more comprehensive than the alternative offerings, it'll be a shame to see the shop close :(

Hi

If you want some lines, I can make you some up, we have about 9 days before we are going - so drop me a line on our website

As long as you let me know which pipes you want - I can make them up easily enough

We will be back up and running in the new year - lots to do in the meantime
