Morris Mini Mk1 Single Line Brakes Problem: Double Press To Get The Right Feel

Best Answer xydte , 10 October 2019 - 08:43 PM

If the pedal comes higher on the second application, then there is something in the system that can be improved up, like adjustment or bleeding.

Or, dry seals.

If the Calipers and Pads you have are brand new, then I'd say there's a reasonable chance the Seals in them are dry. What I suggest here is, take one pad out at a time, pump the pedal about 3 - 4 times, enough to move the Piston in the Caliper out about 8 - 10 mm, then press it back in, replace the Pad and do the others in the same manner. This will lubricate the seals.

Pin this everyone. I remove the pads as mokespider told me now works fine!!! Thanks a lot my friend

As i said on the topic and forgive me if i am wrong but it's the first time i am driving on the road my mini for a long time. I changed everything 12 to 10" brake conversion new pipes breaded goodridge hoses master cylinder etc. The one i didn't change is the 21A1774 regulator on the back. My question is when i press the brake pedal on the first press it's like going way too much towards the floor. If i double press the pedal i get a strong feel and it brakes immediately. Is this normal to single lines? Or i am missing something? Allready we re- bled the brakes but the same thing is happening
