Hi All,

I'm about to refurb my swivel hubs, haynes says you should torque everything up without the split collar but use a washer 50mm OD 25mm ID 6.5mm thick.

Does anyone know where I can get one of these as the tinterweb is not helping?

Hi dmandan,

When I did this recently, I just used two of the large fan spacer washers. Seemed to work well.

As above it's easy to find one on eBay which corresponds with the dimensions given in Haynes.

I don't believe you need to use these washers and frankly, I can't for the life of me see the point. If I'm missing something here, please, point it out.

There's some info in this FAQ on checks that should be done;-

It appears the idea of using these thick washers came about do to ill fitting (too tight) the split tapered collar on to the CV. Check the fit of tha on the CV before fitting the Drive Flange, and adjust or replace it as necessary.
