This is a 998 from 1990. The photo was taken in 1990, so colour repro may not be the best. I need to know what both colours are as unfortunately the engine no longer looks like this ?

The green/grey colour might be difficult to pinpoint as this is a John Cooper Conversion cylinder head that was installed when the car was new.

Does anyone have any ideas on either/both colours?

Thanks to all.

most likely not the factory colours.

try a Yellow block and a Mowog green head.

Believe that the mustardy yellow colour was a std colour for 998 A+ blocks...referred to by Calver St as 'putrid yellow'.

1990, I'm going to say the colour repo is off and it's actually a red block with a BMC green head.

The colour repro isn't that off as I can still see some of the mustardy yellow on the block and some of the green/grey on the cylinder head.

Red was used for 1275 blocks, but not the 998.
