Reg Number From Vin Plates And Chassis Stamp

is there anyone on here in the trade that could get the reg number for me from the vin plate and chassis stamp got the car of my mate he doesnt know the reg as it had stick on plastic sticker plates on it that were ripped ect it was in long term storage was hoping it would be etched in the glass but nope

Unlikely, unless you ask the DVLA to search their database, but they are petty unhelpful.

It is possible and you used to be able to find out on some websites but most have stopped the service for public access due to the recent GPDA Data protection laws. Motor traders, etc with paid up subscriptions to the trade version of Experian Autocheck can do it so you need to find a friendly helpful one and buy him/her a drink!

Some forums have a member with access, the Mercedes Benz forum were providing the service via a member but I think they have stopped as people were joining purely to get VIN/Reg details for non-Mercedes vehicles and motorbikes!

received a letter from the dvla today saying the v62 application for my log book will be processed on the 20/11/2019 i dont know if there is a back log either way ime happy i will have the v5 for my lil barn find 

HPI clear, 6 owners and the last change way back in 2001 so it tallies with the story of the car  when my mate bought it from a guy in bristol who got given it when the then owner  was emigrating to south africa    the chap alreay had a mini and knowing this guy was into them got this it sat under a tarpaulin for at least ten years  probably more like fifteen and altho it needs welding its remarkably good considering
