a large branch fell through the unit roof and onto my van :(

its a very solid van

That could be a problem, do you have it insured? if not i think your going to loose it as a total loss.

Noooooooooooo! ?
Hope you can save it, would be a shame to loose it. Everything is repairable!

Get an estimate from a local classic car repair specialist who understands the value and rarity of a Mini van and go from there.

A modern car body repair shop as used by insurance companies will just right it off as a total loss and regard it as an old banger not worth repairing.

A decent body repair place would fix it in a day back to roughly the right shape.

It's irrelevant that it's a car that's insured or not, they've accidentally caused damage to your property.

If they need to appraise the item that's the insurers job to send the appropriate people at their cost.

Was it a cement asbestos roof that the tree branch came through?  If so then the whole area is probably contaminated and their insurance should really have it cleaned up and an air test done.

The Van roof looks repairable, if it is going to be scrapped let me know, i've always wanted a van :-)

Do you have their details? Do they acknowledge that they have caused damage, or are they aware?
You should be able to claim through their third party liability insurance if they're a legitimate contractor.

Haven’t had a proper look but the roof is pushed up towards the front and the rear quarter is creased

The roof should be ok. You’d be amazed how much you can do with something as simple as a porta-power and a few deft hammer blows.
