Hi, I have bought a pair of mg metro turbo calipers, new pistons and seals.

The calipers came fully stripped already, without the pistons and seals in, so I just want to be sure of fitting the seals in the correct place.

There are two seals for each piston, a thick seal and a thinner one with a groove inside it.
Should the thicker seal go in first , then the piston, then the thinner seal with the metal cap on top?

Sorry if this is a bit obvious, I just want to be sure I fit them correctly. Many thanks.

Yes, the thick seal is the fluid seal and goes in a groove a fair way down the cylinder bore. The thin one is the wiper or dust seal and is fitted after the piston. It's easy to destroy the metal retainer ring; thoroughly scrape / clean where it seats and consider making a tool to press it in with. I think there's a topic somewhere.
