Hi all,

Very confused what’s wrong with my car. I was cleaning up my engine bay with a new bit of paint , ignition coil , rocker cover etc. The car was running perfect prior to this and then for the last week and a half / it had been sitting in my garage with the ht leads / alternator disconnected while I worked on it. It’s a 96 spi.

The car turns over but won’t fire, sounds like it really wants to go but just never makes that final start. The only real new bits that could cause issue has been the ignition coil but I put the old one back on and still wouldn’t fire. I checked the positive side with a meter and am getting 12.5 volts ..also put a power pack on the battery so I think the issue is either fuel or electrical.

Haven’t done anything so confused why all of a sudden it’s acting up and won’t start.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

Sorry if this sounds too obvious but are all the ignition leads & alternator wiring fully clicked into place? Sounds like something simple. Is the fuel pump priming before turning ignition fully on?

Push in the crash switch if fitted, rear right of engine bay when stood at front, only takes a light tap to spring up

Got it started , firing order was wrong and the spark plugs got wet at their ends so wasn’t providing a spark. Thanks all
