Having a mess about to day fitting some engine mounts and I've noticed as well as the bar on the top engine steady there's also a thick wire tie (around 10mm)thats bolted on to the same places as the bar. What is this? Does it do a separate job or can I bin it off? The way it sits is making it a bit of a pig to get the bolts in. Cheers again guys

Usually to a clutch bell housing bolt and on my 1275 gt to the front subframe to body bolt, as it is a metal to metal.
