Hi everyone,

I am currently having an issue where one of the two needle valve things keep getting stuck. I have taken them both out, cleaned them with some thinners, wiped them down and refitted them. I have done this a few times and it still keeps happening. I was wondering what else might be causing the one valve to get stuck? The result is that one float bowl empties and then the car misfires.

Regards,

Vinay

from the front, it's the right hand carb.

There is an inline filter under the tank at the back of the car.

Change the two needle valves and seats?

Make sure the filter is clean and then change the needle valves and seats

Change the two needle valves and seats?

so it is the carb that gets the dirty fuel first.

I would consider renovating the fuel delivery system.

replace all pipes and hoses and clean the tank out. and replace the filter.

had the same. Bought the "uprated" minispares ball valve version which didnt work that well so I went for the VITON Tipped needle valve set - theyre the black tipped ones you see. this solved my problems...

I don't know which ones are in these carbs... They came with the SU rebuild kit. Maybe they are the bad ones :(

Thanks! That might be the only option that remains now. Change all the flexible lines and have the tank chemically cleaned. It seems extreme but possibly the only option now :(
