For the rear subframe trunnion bolts 5/16 x 2 1/2 long does it matter if you use set screws (full thread) or should you only use Bolts (with shoulder). I bought a kit from minispares but these bolts are supplied self colour and the only ones I can find elsewhere zinc plated are set screws. I’ve ignored stainless as these will react with the steel and corrode. I don’t really want to put the self colour ones in as corrosion will be an issue if any time in the future I need to remove. So just wanted to be sure before I jump in and use set screws. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Not sure what you mean by self colour.  I'd say you'd be better off using bolts rather than set screws.  You can get them from Namrick.

I'd prefer to fit ZP Bolts here rather than Set Screws.

It's been a long time, but weren't the originals with clearing grooves setscrews?

A useful tip is to use thread lock: it'll also help seal moisture out.

Self colour means not coated so bare steel and are lightly oiled. Just checked namrick and see they stock them so will order some from here. Thanks for that I couldn’t find any when searching online.

Self Coloured are either black or plain steel. These will rust in very short time.

Yes, a good idea. I grease mine and find that has the same effect while being 'kind' on the threads.

A good example of what some of the bolts were at one point, but a word of caution on that supplier, sadly, he was once good and reliable, but lately, he's one to steer well clear of.
