Thanks guys for your input. Maniflow freeflow seems the way to go agreed.

I'd still appreciate some viewpoints on the sprite back box

Do you mean an Austin-Healey Sprite Mk I? The "Frogeye"?

Yes the frogeye. It's a bit old school but I noticed Clive Trickey recommended this.
Back in Clive Trickey's days we used to use an MGB centre box as a back box. It was oval but very shallow and didn't get ripped off so easily as the standard cooper box.

Will bear that in mind next time around. Did it sound fruity?

Had a Janspeed LCB up front and a 544 cam in a 997 cooper engine plus straight cuts. Couldn't hear the exhaust because of the straight cuts but others said it sounded good and loud. Had to fit a centre box as well eventually too quieten it a bit. Long long time ago.

OK thanks for the tip. Sounds like a pretty wild setup you had back then!

So the mk1 sprite box has been fitted for a year or so and maybe due to carbon build up has got ever so slightly louder. It now sounds perfect, really subtle sporty note
