Somewhere around 40 or 45 MPH something under my front end starts to shudder and shake. It will go away above 45 mph. Won't happen before 45 either. If i take it out of gear and coast it seems to go away. Anyone know what this might be? Pot joints maybe? Hope someone can help me. My car is a 1990 Mini 998cc manual, 73000 miles, HS4 carb. Thanks. I hope i explained this ok.

Get the wheels balanced all round and set the pressures, also check for stud holes being ovalled whilst the wheels are off.

Then whilst it's in the air just grab the driveshafts from underneath the car and check for play in all directions

Check the tyres too, if they are very old they might have a flat or a bulge. But that's just to rule that out...

Ball joints, tie rod ends, CV joints, early type rubber inner drive shaft joints, drive shafts, shock absorbers, steering rack, engine mounts, subframe mounts, bad rust etc etc - the list is endless O_O
