Apart from the differences between A and A+ idle bearings and the holes for breathers and crank sensor should all housings fit all engines with regard to stud, bolt and dowel holes lining up. We are trying to fit a DAM 6259 (998 A+) in place of a damaged TRD 10015 ('94 1275 CARB).
We don't need the crank sensor and we have drilled and taped the breather holes.
We are trying to measure the idle gear thrust washer gap by mating the housing to the gearbox only but the top dowel appears to be misaligned and maybe distorting the housing so that the idle gear locks up. We have tried two housings with the same result.
