depending on age, the vin *may* be stamped into the scuttle panel gutter (drivers side i think)

If you are in the UK the DVLA can issue ‘Q’ registration numbers to vehicles whose age or identity is in doubt:-

WhatsApp Image 2019-11-21 at 11.57.40.jpeg 85.16K 2 downloadsIm not in the UK, this mini has been brought from the Netherlands more than 10 years ago, the history of paperwork is unknown. The last owner had it for 8 years, when he had to clear the rented premises, he thought he would scrap it - but then remembered me and offered it to me for scrap value. It had no front end. I took it to my place about a month ago, and yesterday he found the front end - and I have now found it has the chassis number as well, on the front slam panel, beginning with 20W - so seems to be correct for the car.
All this happens in Latvia, where we have appr 20 - 25 roadworthy classic minis, and not one clubman or estate is amongst them.
I am unable to do the resto work myself - it would need big parts of floor panels replaced, and whole of rear subframe. One local guy who has suitable garage is coming to take a look in a week.
Plus I still dont know how to get paperwork - but at least I now have a shell with VIN.

Have you spoken to your equivalent to the British DVLA?

The Netherlands equivalent to the British DVLA may also have paperwork related to the Clubman Estate VIN before it went to Latvia.
Hopefully some TMF members based in the the Netherlands may be able to help? It would be good to save such a rare example of the Mini range in Latvia.

/f someone from the Netherlands could help wit some info - I would be very grateful.
Our CSDD (DVLA) says they are unable to register it without some form of paperwork - but there is some small loophole via our local Classic Car club, although that would come with some limitations...
