Hello,
Sorry to ask again, but following the replacement of my thermostat calorstat the mini has a leak of coolant.
so I ordered 2 new seals and they have 2 colors

I don't want to make the same mistake again, how do you put them?

dark down, green/blue up or vice versa?

thank you

While the holes appear equidistant from each other, they in fact are not and the gasket out of the 6 'possible' ways will only go on one way.

The 'nick' out out the outside edge, goes to the spark plug side of the head and towards the water pump.

As I was always told when laying turf 'green side up'.

Always wondered about the ‘notch’. So as viewed from above it should be located approx at the 4-5 o’clock position?

As viewed from leaning over the engine bay, from the front bumper side, yes, that's actually a good description on a 1275. for a small bore head, it would be around the 3 O'clock position.
