Hi just wondering is it possible to convert a Mini clubman front to standard round nose. I presume inner, outer wings and front panel . The reason is I learnt to drive in a 1960s Mini countryman and I cannot afford the asking price of one . It seems it will be a better project for me than converting the rear of a standard Mini. Any thoughts or am I mad

Yep, quite common conversion, as you say just needs the roundness inner wings, wings, front panel and bonnet.

 As done here.

There used to be a company which specialised in converting Mini Clubman Estates into retro-Mini Countryman/Travellers complete with woodwork and the latest Rover 1.3i engines, etc.

However donor Mini Clubman Estates are not as common or as cheap as they once were and some would say should be restored to their original spec rather than become a retro hybrid.....

Check out these guys. They have been doing high end conversions of this type for many years.

That green mini is lovely, must be owned by a person of particularly good taste and style  :D

As previously said just needs wings, inner wings, bonnet and front panel. I remember that there was some issue with the bonnet hinges, think I had to use the Clubman ones in the end.

Good clubman estate shells are becoming harder to find but it’s debatable about if original is best. Personally I think many people would prefer the look of a Countryman/Traveller to say a BL turd brown or bogie green clubby estate, but then I’m a bit bias in that argument
