I have a wooden garage insulated with 50mm rockwool cavity bats. When I'm out their I find a electric fan heater with a thermostat and an oscillating function is more than sufficient.

this is what i have
its silent, it work extremely well, you can use the timer for it to come on just before you go into the garage, it has an eco mode, they are the best way. Dont get a cheep one, buy once and itll be right . Our garage is about the same size as yours, and it gets far too hot in there at times!

I saw these www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALL-IN-ONE-5KW-12V-Air-Diesel-Heaterddiesel heaters being used by a couple of people so ended up getting one myself for my (well parents) double garage. It seems to be very good so far, it pushes out a lot more heat that the 2 electric oil heaters.

i've used fan heaters, oil filled rads, gas heaters and diesel heaters and the best really is the diesel heater(my garage was maybe 25x25 but the low roof helped), plus you don't have to worry about the surprise electricity bill next month because you left the electric heater on, nice you have a pay as you go kind of heater!

might be an ideal time to buy one with the black friday deals on

i looked at them as my mate has just put one in his landrover so was considering it was just thinking of best way to exhaust it as the garage supplier recommends not drilling the panels

do you get much moisture produced from it , im sure i read that it adds moisture to the air ?

A calor gas heater without a flue to outside air produces a gallon of water, on average per bottle, as a by product of combustion. That's a lot of warm steam to condense on anything cold and metal in a garage.

a gas bottle lasts me over a year so not much water from condensing per week ,the garage is also well ventilated , and as I live in Scotland ,it gets its fair share of water driving it in our weather up here , no matter what you use ,your mini will rust to buggery over the years unless of course its garaged and hardly used

Im just about to have my new garage erected next month , galvanised steel framed and steel clad with a non drip roof membrane. Its 12m x 8m x 3.5m at the eaves.
I have resigned myself to the fact that it will be cold in winter, It would cost a lot to insulate a garage that size and heating costs would also be prohibitive. But it will be dry (DPM under the concrete slab) and will give me lots of space for lots of projects, coming from a single garage that we have at the minute where its not really big enough to do any meaningful work on the Mini I end up working on it in the driveway anyway so it will be a huge improvement over what I have now. Cant wait, been dreaming of this for years!
