Problems With Headlights

Got a 93 Rio and having problems with headlights not working now. A while ago I fitted a new headlight switch and a new stalk and all has been fine for the last 300 miles at least.
The sidelights work fine and all rear lights are Ok. DIpped headlights and main beam do not work at all. The only time the main beam works is when you pull the stalk towards you. It doesn't work if you push it way from you as said.
The only comment I can add is that it was raining.
Is there a really somewhere maybe
Any help appreciated as car can't be used
Cheers
Andrew

OK, been out checking a few things today
The fog light works and so does the horn.
Removed the light switch and tried a spare, nothing dipped or main beam
Main beam works only when you pull back the stalk, which is new incidentally
Took the advice and removed the dashboard and could see the 4 fuse holders, 2 blue / red wiring and 2 blue / white wiring
Presumed the dipped was the blue and red and changed fuses and still not joy
All fuses are OK
Multimeter battery has now died so cant check anything else.
Any thoughts appreciated
Thank you

as above, main & dip beam share a common supply from the main light switch through the blue wire to the steering column multiplug. Foglight supply is daisy chained off the blue wire from the headlight switch at the s/c multiplug
if the rear foglights are working then it would indicate that power is getting to the s/c multiplug, so the problem is on the other side of that plug/socket i.e within the steering column wiring and/or switch assembly
close examination of the plug, wiring and steering column switch gear may identify an issue
with a multimeter you want to be checking for the following continuties at the steering column headlight/indicator/horn multiplug:
Dip beam : continuity from the BLUE wire terminal to the BLUE/RED wire terminal
Main beam: continuity from the BLUE wire terminal to the BLUE/WHITE terminal
..in your original post you advised that main beam flash was working

Yes, main beam flashes on stalk

Main beam flash takes power from the purple wire - same feed as the horn.
So I would say there is a problem on the blue wire between the multi plug and the switch or the (new) switch has broken

Great bits of kit, wouldn't be with mine now, I use the power probe 3, it's about £60 but does the same job, plus alot more

In the meantime, had another play today and done a bodge so car can be used. If I put a wire in the back of the light switch back in the blue wire and the other end in the loom block coming down from steering column on the steering column side in the block in the blue and red wire, headlights work as normal with the switch.
The main beam still won't work though, only on the pull of the stalk. Not important around town.
Before I did this, I did a continuity test between between the blue wire on switch block to the terminal on the stalk and it was fine, bleeped away.
I have such little time, cold and dark working outside. These things never happen summer time :)
At least can be used until I have some more time.
Will try and look more next weekend.
Thanks for the advice

The wire you’ve installed is effectively by passing the stalk by connecting the power from the main switch straight out to the dip beam.
