I've got one based on being a 'student' doing an  automotive night course at the local college. In fairness the manager of my local branch wasn't that fussed about proof of anything.  Generally gets you about 25% off  parts and tools, especially own brand, but doesn't cover car cleaning, radios in my experience

Have never been able to link it to my online account though, so buy online 'click and collect' and pay instore.

Car cleaning is included, 10% discount, which is real handy if you have a micro fibre fetish like me...

It is quite easy to get a Halfords Trade Card, especially if you can prove one of the trades listed above or something close.....if you fail at one branch try another, I took along my Mechanical Engineer qualifications and they did not even bother to look at them!

I got mine after I came back from tour. Asked for proof of qualifications and said I've just come back and worked on million pound pieces of kit etc and gave me one soon enough

I have had one for a long time and the discoint structure is really good.
When I was running my engine building business after I retired I qualified and now I can have one because I look after all the ground equipment at my gliding club.

I wish I had known that before I left. I still have one laying around (I think my daughter has it in her toy collection) but it’s expired.

I’ll have to see if there is another way to do it. I think my brother in law should be eligible as an engineer on the railways.
