"There is a degree of speculation regarding who commissioned this car and if any replicas were made subsequently. What is know is that it was constructed in 1985 by Aston Martin subsidiary Tickford for £50,000. The most controversial element of its design was the stacked rectangular headlights. Well, that and the blanked off grille with its supplementary driving lights. Inside, it featured burr walnut dash and leather upholstery, There has been internet chatter which states that as many as eight Tickfords were made, but evidence hasn't been forthcoming."

Tickford enthusiast Richard Nener writes: ”It is believed that the car was made for a wealthy Oil sheik at a cost of £50,000 in 1983, in contrast to the Metro that they made at the time that cost £12,000 to £15,000. Its not hard to see why only one was ever made.”
Thanks to Richard for supplying the photos. The top one is from Classics, December 2001.

While Tickford did interiors that, in my mind, were the best, their exterior styling was dreadful!

Did they do anything to the engine or had they given up after the hatchetjob on the front end?
