Hi all, I have a bit of a puzzle here. Have a 91 Mayfair, but I am getting no heat delivered inside the car. I have checked for blockages, airlocks, removed and checked heater matrix, changed the thermostat but still no joy. The pipes to the matrix are both heating up, but with the fan on it blows out a very slightly warm flow of air.

There is plenty of heat being produced, outside the car I can feel a lovely hot airflow being pushed through the rad ( by the way the engine fan is constantly on?).

Any ideas?

itl be the heater matrix blocked mate  , try flushing it through with a hose might do the trick, if not replace the matrix

Had all the matrix out, and flushed it too. It all looked in pretty good shape though, but I guess the problems are not always visible!

I checked it when removed, it did open, but I think I will check it in situ, make sure the cable is opening it fully.
Thanks for that!

If you can hang on a bit, I have found that they usually work best, in the summer.

If the Rubber Hoses are getting hot, then I'd say it's reasonable to say the Tap is working.

I'd suggest as others here have, flushing the matrix, but doing so by disconnecting the hoses in the engine bay and doing it from there.

Whoops, missed that the pipes did heat up. If they do that, then the tap should work.
