5 port head? 16 valve? 8 port? 7 port? Quite a broad question. Standard bore or could be bored and stroked etc

If you had the best spec head on a standard bore for road use

Then I would not be looking for max power it would be a pig to drive. And would need regular rebuilds.

a nice round torque figure of 100 would be very very nice.

A best spec head fitted to a standard spec engine?

Assuming you’re fitting a decent ‘stage 1’ kit at the very least you may see mid to high 70s bhp I reckon.

Yes the head is a major player in the spec as without it there wont be much of an increase even with a decent cam.

The next thing is the cam as this will account for the driveability of the car.

And the biggest thing is your budget.

Swifttune spec engine that they use for racing is 1293 and 140ish bhp with a price tag of £19k. Thats normally aspirated to boot.

I had an MED Road Comp head on a +030" lump; with a Kent 266 cam this gave 79bhp at the flywheel.
