Hi all!

I have a 1996 SPI with a standard exhaust throughout (from the manifold to back box).

It’s now blowing from the first box after the cat, so needs replacing!

I’m after something a bit throatier (with slightly better performance) now I can justify spending some money on it, what system have you all got on yours?

Is it worth getting an RC40 / Maniflow back box if the rest of the system is standard, or not? I’m also thinking of going down the single box, opposed to twin box route for a little more noise too!

Also what’s everyone’s thoughts on the Cat - have you kept yours, if not, why and how does that affect emission .etc? It would fail an MOT without one?

Cheers!

On my SPI I have standard manifold - straight through to RC40 back box and that's it.... its noisy don't get me wrong but shouldn't they all be?  :w00t:

70-80 mph on a motorway is not nice

performance gains... not really noticeable, maybe better throttle response but my original was blowing too.

Original Cat needs putting on for the emissions test on MOT - unless you have other means

I always love a Playmini. Always CAT back as I cannot be bothered with the swapping come MOT time.
