Whilst i am continuing my strip down of the mini i am also trying to recondition the bits i am taking off.
I have removed everything from the dash and, whilst removing the chrome trim from the clocks and glove box i have also removed the 'sticky tape' it almost feels like very thin rubber but double sided sticky. I dont believe it to be glue.
I have tried searching but dont actually know what i am looking for.
Any ideas.

Cheers
Chris

You can buy thin transparent double sided tape from the likes of B&Q. Cover the trim rings and using a scalpel/craftknife trim the excess off leaving just on the trim, it would probably be easier to remove the backing paper before trimming. The other alternatives are super glue but that could get messy.

I used 1 and 2mm wide double sided tape that I had been using to stick glass screens back on smartphones and iPads.  Good 3m stuff and it’s never let me down.  Narrow enough so that there’s less trimming.  Plenty on amazon and eBay.  I’d avoid superglue as well as it’s too easy to make a mess, the double sided tape can be loosened with low temp heat gun / warm hairdryer if need be in the future too.
