Hi all,

Looking to track down a central locking kit, suitable for cars with the factory Rover alarm. It used to be sold by Minispares under the product code MSSK2004, but it would appear to have been discontinued.

Anyone out there still got one sat unused, that they might consider letting go?

Thanks everyone,

Jacob

That's a shame!

I've had one for ten years and would hate to go back to a key.

Has anyone asked them why they've stopped doing them? If you could put a few people together Mini Spares might do a batch.

I haven’t actually contacted them as invariably, the answer is always in the negative. There are a few similar looking kits on eBay, but then you never know whether they’re actually going to fit.

The reason we stopped doing them is because the manufacturer stopped making them, as such we have no supplier unfortunately.

The thing that was the big draw for me was the compact nature of the electronic module. There look to be similar kits on eBay which claim compatibility with “your alarm system”, but whether they’re the same or not who knows. At least I have the alarm interface kit, so that should get me one step closer.

Gav - Is there no way of sourcing an alternate supplier?

We are always looking for new suppliers when a product goes NLA, unfortunately nothing matches the kit we had at that price especially, I can't comment on the cheap ebay kits as we've never tried them.

What sort of price point would we be looking at, as I’d certainly pay a reasonable amount to ensure compatibility. Appreciate that this wouldn’t be everyone’s view - even if it was a quid there’d be someone out there who’d consider it overpriced.

I was thinking the other way, the other kits on the market have been far too cheap and not the quality we would want...
