Rear Subframe Questions

Can you replace the rear subframe mount pins the ones that attach to the boot floor as mine the threads have stripped

Someone who knows more than me might come along but on my 91 cooper those mounts had bolts that came through on the boot side, they came in my new hardware kit so not sure why yours has studs, unless someone put something over the heads on the boot floor.

The rear mount brackets bolt up through the boot floor, but it's the thread on the pin that holds the bracket to the subframe that's stripped by the sounds of it

It's not easy to replace the pins, but there's at least one post on here somewhere describing how it can be done

not a serviceable part.

 

subframe needs to come off to weld in a new pin or replace subframe.

Subframe is out and fully stripped was wondering weather I can buy that pin so I can cut out and replace

Maybe re cut the thread smaller and use a smaller nut and a big washer ?

New pins not available, however it can be repaired with some care, patience and skill.

There's a post on the board somewhere where this has been done.
