Hello all.  My mini sadly failed its mot, due to a hole in the toe board (glad they found it to be honest).  I have removed the carpets, and poked with a screwdriver.

It looks a lot worse in the photo, the floor pan is solid, as it the other side.  the rust is impacting on the subframe mount.  My initial plan was to cut out the rot, replace with 1mm steel, then weld a 2mm plate for the subframe out (and the usual seam sealer/paint/underseal). Any other thoughts.  it looks like it has been repaired in the past (badly).  I am not overly keen to replace the whole panel :(

Clean back to bare metal just to be sure. I started with a few small holes and the rust worm just spread.
