I voted to plan A  :P

This week I have more time to work on the subframe, every day allow me a little step forward. I'll get back the radius arms from the machine shop tomorrow and I am very excited how they will fit.

Today I came up with these supports for the radius arm pivot. The washer and the sleeve will be welded to one piece of course and I will cut it for the correct length.

Update from today. The stiffener - or what they call it - is welded into its place.

Please note the Anti Rotation Device at the brake hose - I made it from a plain washer  :shifty:

Nice straight spot welding there! ?
Looks nice and sturdy.
Finished stripping mine down today, will start the mods next week, but won't be as nice as this one I'm sure.

If you can imagine, you can do it ! Just take your time.

And share your progress, I am curious !

Its just I have too much imagination and not enough time... ?

Next problem to solve : the radius arm pivot has a grease nipple, as you know. On that end the thread is longer on the pivot. If I insert the shorter thread inside then only the half of the nut will crew on the pivot. I have to figure out how to bend the brake pipe to allow the acces to the nipple. Maybe I should put a 45-degree nipple ?!

Almost finished :) Most of the welding is done on the left side.

Now the subframe is in one piece  :shades: I will make some weld for reinforcement before it goes to galvanising.

Radius arm and hi-lo fitted for checking. A little adjustment needed at the support bowl of the rubber cone. I adjusted it with a hammer.

I made some seam weld for reinforcement on the bottom strap. Should I weld it on the top also ?

And the inner thread of the pivot. The end with the nipple is longer, maybe I'll need a 45 or 90 degree nipple.

Some final touch before galvanizing

I've made a bracket for the brake valve

...and bent the brake tubes. Maybe I should route the left side under the exhaust hanger.

The grease nipple must be inside and with a 45-degree nipple I can access it.

I drilled a hole on the bottom to help drain the water or moisture. The "gutter" prevents the dirt from entering from the front. I don't know if it will work or not, but that was the most corroded part of the front cross beam.
