Hi Folks!

Thanks for being allowed into this Mini forum, have lived and worked in Norway the past 49 years mainly as a mechanic that started his apprenticeship in 1965 working for an Austin Morris dealership in Brighton UK. I am a reasonably fit 70 year old recycled teenager.

I am fortunate in have two Minis both of which started out as basic 850 models, the oldest is an early 1971 registration but could be a 1970 model. This Mini has a 1293 A series built from bits and pieces from many models. It has a single H1F6 which is modified as I wanted it without a pendle needle which I feel wears out the main jet in use. The transmission has Cooper S MK III gears and a 2.95 crownwheel and pinion. 13" Minilite copies. Recaro seats.

Bodywork is blue metalic but now has quite a bit of rust but my intentions are to adress this later this year after I have sourced replacement MK3 floor halves and new boot floor. Suspension is HiLo with Super Minifin drums rear and 7.5" discs MKIII Cooper S front. Spax adjustable dampers so a good road specification. Wireing harness is home made using the correct lucas colour coded wires with lots of extra relays and since this is Norway daytime running lamps are mandantory.

The other Mini which is red metalic 1974 rod change is a work in progress and requires assembly of the engine and transmission, it has 8.4" discs at the front and Cooper S read drums. The shell is a ground up restoration done by me before I became too ill to continue working. Wiring is again home knitted but will have basic 850 instrumentation. Engine and transmission has again Cooper S gear set, crosspin diff, 998 crank + block bored .060" over with a 295 style cylinder head. The engine and transmission have yet to be assembled. I have a new interior setup for this car and two Recaro seats from a Porsche that I intend stripping down and narrowing the frames to better suit the Mini body.

Enough chit-chat about me, realy looking forward to get to know more about others on here.
Cheers Tony Thomas
