This is purely out of curiosity, i understand the pulleys are different and the tensioner is different too. Having never owned an mpi i have no idea what the alternator looks like apart from pictures. Just wondering if there was a way around it?

If anyone has then a couple of pics would be nice ;)

cheers

What are you really wanting to do? Fit an alternator in the MPI position or fit an MPI alternator in the standard position?

one requires lots of brackets etc and the other just buy a new one so you don’t have to mess about changing pulleys.

It is only an alternator so it can be fitted to anything.

if you know what you are doing.

If you got the right length belt, as long as the mounts on the alternator itself are in a similar position as the earlier types, I'm sure one could be used here, but most flat belts seem to 'like' running on a spring tensioner rather than a fixed one, so belt life may not be as good as it should.
