I have a 998 mini and I am going to turbocharge using a gt15 off of a 306 hdi. The wastegate is set at 1 bar ~ 14psi ish and the Peugeot achieves this at 3000 rpm from a 2litre diesel.
Realistically I don’t want to run any more then 10 psi max. What are my options?

1. Do nothing. fit a boost gauge will a 998 ever pump enough to achieve 1bar with this turbo?
2. New wastegate with a lower spring pressure
3. A bleed valve

Just doing some research plenty of info out there about raising boost pressure but no one seems to want to reduce it lol

A bleed valve will only increase boost pressure you need an adjustable actuator to be able to lower the boost pressure.

Sorry bleed valve probably not the correct terminology. Dump valve on the inlet side to bleed away excess boost if it occurs

Just buy an actuator rated at or below the boost you want to run and bleed if necessary to give the desired pressure.
Or you could try slightly less preload on the current actuator you have.

Thanks Phil ordered a cheap 7 psi to get started
