Carb Fuel Overflow Piping

Best Answer unburntfuelinthemorning , 22 January 2020 - 03:08 PM

Quarter inch petrol hose will do the job.

On the early cars any overflow just came out of the top of the float chamber and dripped on to the exhaust.  On the later cars there was a metal pipe attached to the clutch cover with a quarter inch flexible hose joining it to the carb.  The metal pipe directed any overflow to the front bottom of the flywheel housing and onto the floor.

I have some quarter inch fuel hose stuffed down somewhere near the steering rack under the master cylinders to take overflow away.

I used 5/16" petrol pipe off my Hs4 and run it along the top of the box section cross member and exited down the side of the rad next to the rad overflow pipe.
