Hello all.

I`ve searched the forums but am finding different answers so i will ask a question here.

I have fitted a Tim vac gauge but when the engine is ticking over stationary it is reading 0.

I have added a T piece to the vac pipe running from the carb to the dizzy.

Have i plumbed the vac hose to the right place and if so why do i get a 0 reading at idle.

I have seen a sheet explaning the different needle positions/movements which was originally supplied with the Smiths gauge, but cant seem to find a copy online.

Does anyone have an image of this please.

Thanks in advance all.

The gauge needs connecting to manifold vacuum, the carb connection is not necessarily on the manifold side of the throttle plate.Steve..

As above.  The diagrams of the throttle plate on this website illustrate this.

I use the carb spacer blocks with the vacuum adaptor take-off. Like this for a smaller SU. Also get them for HIFs
