Nicklouse - I’ve been using a set of these for about 10:years and they’ve been great so far. Happy to order a set and send them to you:

I didn't think Halfords did imperial sizes any more, nice!
My trusty Halfords toolbox (Torq ?) Is half and half and all 3/8". Guess I'm just awkward!

Yep just need someone to buy and post them for me. They don’t ship out of the UK.

So I've ordered the SGS trolley as it got a few mentions (website was a bit rubbish though), and gone with the Sealey wrench. I'll post thoughts on the trolley when it arrives.

Now to go figure out why Rodger won't start!

You will need other torque wrench’s as that will not cover everything. This will do everything else.

Get a Halfords Trade Card (see other thread), then they're a pretty good source for tools and have always been exemplary, to me, if I've had to return anything.

I bought a Norbar recently for my engine build, pricey but really nice British made tools.

Thanks! The Sealey was just for some lower end stuff for another car, but I do like the look of this one for higher values :)

I know it’s twice the price but I’ve been using one of these SGS low energy jacks in the workshop for 3 years and it’s been brilliant.

https://www.sgs-engi...ge-trolley-jack

Very stable and muck more solid than my old Sealey aluminium low entry jack and the weight isn’t really an issue if you’re not in nascar.

I need to get a low profile jack.

Does the SGS jack fit under the rear subframe OK? I was a bit concerned that the end of it was a little wide at 330mm, going by the dims on their website. Thought it might hit the rear wheels. I should imagine it is OK at the front end.

I use a machine mart low entry jack, had it for years. The rubber saddle came off but I use wood chock(s). Also have a halfords 2 tonne quick lift jack. Both do the job and have never let me down.

+1 for the Machine Mart lower entry height jack with the rubber block on the saddle. From memory the minimum saddle height is 80mm.

Mines been very good and never let me down!

Cheers, Steve.
