When fitting the conrod bearing cap does the notch in the big end bearing go to the opposite side to the conrod bearing notch?

The rods and caps are all marked 1 to 4 but the caps were loose and don't have an orientation marked on them.
It's a 1275 A+.

So notches on the same side of the rod.

You did mark and orientate the caps and rods before you separated them to ensure you put the right parts together the right way round.

I did mark each cap and rod with their respective numbers but not orientation.

Lesson learned.

How did you mark them? If you mark the bore number on both rod & cap and did it on the same side, before you split them, then you have naturally marked the orientation.

But as said - the notches always go together, so orientation isn't a big problem.

For actual rod orientation, they got like this, if you put them in the other way it mammals locks up when you torque the bigness up
