1998 mpi. New battery and fan belt last week. Won't hold a charge. Doesn't appear to be the alternator (lights on at appropriate times etc). Any chance the immobiliser could be doing it? Any quick way to disconnect and try it?
Thanks
Stephen

So what output does the alternator give?

did you charge the new battery or did you hope it was actually fully charged?

You could do worse than to get one of these.

Plumbed in permanently, it'd be TMI for me, but clipped to the battery terminals it has allowed me to diagnose problems on many vehicles. Not that expensive to buy, either.
